Summer Updates
We hope your summer has been a filled with a good dose of fun and rest. Sadly though our summer is slipping away and the Labour Day weekend is almost upon us.
Your Gas Council and affiliated local unions have been busy this summer preparing for a full Fall calendar of meetings and events.
Collective Agreement Proofreading - Proofreading the collective agreement will take place before the end of August and the text will be submitted to Union Gas HR for printing and distribution to our membership.
Labour Day Parades/Events Our local unions participate in various community Labour Day Parades and events. Check with your local union representatives for what’s going on in your community on Labour Day. Get out and be active in your local union.
Local Union Meetings - Regular meetings resume. Please check your local union board for dates and times of meetings in your area.
Corporate Labour/Management Meeting - This meeting is set for Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in London. The agenda is being assembled now and a report will follow.
September 2009 Gas Council Meetings - The next Gas Council Meetings are scheduled for September 10th & 11th 2009 in London at the Sheraton Four Points on Wellington Road. Representatives from your local union will be attending these important meetings. Union Gas President Julie Dill will be our guest on Friday morning.
Utility Services Committee Meeting - The next meeting of the newly struck Utility Services Committee will happen on September 22, 2009. Discussions concerning all issues concerning company wide Utility Services Department are on the agenda.
Employee Pension Advisory Committee (EPAC) -The 2009 meeting of the EPAC will take place on Thursday September 24, 2009 in Toronto.
2009 Inter-Union Gas Workers’ Conference - The 2009 Inter-Union Gas Workers’ Conference will take place this year in Las Vegas, Nevada from September 27 to October 1. Gas Workers’ from all over North America will meet in workshops to discuss facets of their job. Many workshops happen throughout the week and include discussion in the work areas of Clerical and Call Centre work, transmission & supply, plant maintenance and service operations.
Reports on discussion at these meetings will be seen on these pages.
