What is the TSSA?  It’s the Technical Standards & Safety Authority – an independent, not for profit organization responsible for the delivery of a range of safety services including fuel.

TSSA’s Fuels Safety Program provides fuel-related safety services associated with the safe transportation, storage, handling and use of hydrocarbon fuels (includes natural gas) , and administers the Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000 as it relates to these fuels.

Under this Act, TSSA regulates fuel suppliers, storage facilities, transport trucks, pipelines, contractors and equipment or appliances that use fuels. They also work to protect the public, the environment and property from fuel-related hazards such as spills, fires and explosions.
